Bible Reading: 1 Kings 13; Philippians 4; Ezekiel 43; Psalms 95 & 96
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
What do you need? There is a great difference between need and want, but the Bible says God will supply all your need. This is a magnificent promise from the Word of God. Do you believe it? How many times have you been in a place of need and not remembered this verse? Our heavenly Father wants to meet our needs and said he will meet our needs. Just think of what his child David said:
Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Our God will not forsake us. He has promised to meet our needs. As a matter of fact, he knows perfectly what those needs are!
Matthew 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Here, then we see that Jesus says we must ask God for the things we need. Do you regularly ask God? Have you caught yourself praying and not really asking God for anything? The Bible says:
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Remember too that there is a difference between need and want!
James 4:2-3 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Jesus has cleansed us with his blood and given us access to the Father. We can therefore boldly come to the throne of Grace and ask God for what we need. Do you do this? Do you regularly come to him and ask him to supply your needs. He can supply spiritual, physical, material and financial needs. He is God and he has the riches of his glory. In other words his riches are inexhaustible and cannot be numbered. He is not limited! However, he said we must ask. What do you need? What are you asking God for right now?
In Christ,
Rody
