Let Patience have her perfect work

Bible Reading: James 1
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Patience has a perfecting work. It is part of God's sanctification process in our lives. Have you ever worked on a project that required you to have patience? Maybe you had to work on something in stages, letting each stage dry before you continued. This kind of work cannot be done all at once. Sanctification is like that.

God puts us in situations where we need to learn a valuable lesson. He wants to transform our character. He does this by trying our faith. Anytime you are tempted, you can know that God wants you to overcome. He does not lead you into sin. He leads you in victory, but sometimes victor must conquer temptations.

For this reason, we can have joy when we find ourselves in different kinds of temptations and trials. God will use the situation to try our faith. We need to be patient. Rest in him during the time and do not give in to the temptation. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus and trust him. He will bring you through with victory.

Many times these situations are the only means of getting us to a place where God can work. Let patience have her perfect work! When you come out, you will be more like Jesus.

In Christ,
Rody
