Great and precious promises

Bible Reading: 2 Peter 1
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord is something we MUST have. Not to just know about Jesus, but to know him personally and to love him with all our heart, soul mind and strength.

How do we know God? We know God as he has revealed himself to us in Jesus Christ. He has done more than just tell us a little bit about God. The Bible says:

2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

The divine power of Jesus has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. We need nothing else! What we do need is to know, believe and appropriate the great and precious promises that he has given to us. It is by these great and precious promises that we are partakers of the divine nature.

As we know the wonderful promises of our Lord, we believe them. This is what it means to live by faith. So in order to live by faith, we must hear the Word so we can know the great and precious promises that have been made to us by the Lord.

Can you hear what Peter is saying? It is as you hear and believe the great and precious promises that you are a partaker of the divine nature. Do you want to see your character transformed? You need to get into the Word of God and hear what Jesus has promised to those who love him.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

In Christ,
Rody
