Him that sent me

Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 26; Revelation 13; Zechariah 9; John 12

John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Jesus was sent from the Father. He was sent with a very specific mission. As a matter of fact, Jesus was so focused on his mission that he said it was his meat or food to do the will of the One who sent him.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Jesus was doing the work of the Father. He was completely surrendered to the Father’s will. He was preaching the message that mankind could be reconciled to the God that we have sinned against through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Hearing and believing the word that Jesus taught, makes one believe on the Father who sent him. This is the message of the gospel that saves from condemnation and gives us everlasting life.

John 7:33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

Jesus’ mission on earth was limited in time. He would only be here for a time and then he was going to return to his Father.

John 7:33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

During his time on earth, Jesus was teaching what he had heard from his Father.

John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

He was not alone here. The Father was with him.

John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Jesus continued his mission by sending others as he had been sent. They would carry on the mission with the promise of his presence as he knew the presence of his Father.

John 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

To receive the word of a true disciple is to receive Jesus. To receive Jesus is to receive the Father who sent him! Let’s go and proclaim the Word of Jesus!

In Christ,

Rody
