Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 2
1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
The Bible says that the spiritual man has the mind of Christ. What does that mean?
Romans 8:6, 9 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
The Holy Spirit dwells in you. He is the Spirit of Christ so you have Christ in you. Do you know that? Do you walk in that realization? What an amazing thing to think about!
The believer who is led by the mind of Christ thinks the thoughts the Jesus thinks and has the motivation and intentions that Jesus has. This is why the Bible instructs us:
Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
When we are filled with the Spirit, we are letting the Holy Spirit have full control of our thought process. As we do this, we will make decisions based on the mind of Christ and not our carnal mind. Here is another way that the Bible says it:
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
What will it look like when we live our lives based on the mind of Christ?
Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
The mind of Christ will lead us to be humble servants who are obedient to the will of the Father.
1 Peter 4:1-2 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
The believer who is led by the mind of Christ is living to please the Father and not walking according to the flesh.
You have the mind of Christ if you are a believer. Let him lead you!
In Christ,
Rody
