Spread it before the Lord

Bible Reading: Isaiah 37-39; Psalm 76

Isaiah 37:14-15 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. 15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord, saying,

Hezekiah was truly a man of prayer. When he discovered the intentions of the Assyrian army and heard their threats, his first response was to go to the house of the Lord and pray.

In his life, Hezekiah received much from the hand of God in answer to prayer. Not only was he delivered from invading armies, but he also was healed of a disease and given fifteen more years of life because he asked God.

Is prayer your first response when you encounter difficulties? Or is prayer a last resort after you have tried on your own and failed?

Prayer is God's idea and he invites us to pray and ask him for what we need. He delights in our prayers!

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord:
but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

God has given us some incredible promises in his Word in regard to prayer. One of the most amazing is this:

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

What are you asking God for right now?

In Christ,
Rody
