Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
After Jesus was raised from the dead he met with his disciples and gave them more instructions. Here are some of his last instructions before ascending to heaven. Have you ever thought much about what Jesus said here? Let's look closely at this passage and get instructions for our lives!
Jesus said, "Go ye into al the world." The mission of Jesus is to take the name of Jesus with you as you go. The message of Jesus is not just for one group of people or for one continent. The good news of Jesus Christ is for all people all over the world. Do you take these words seriously? Are you going out with the gospel message?
Jesus said, "Preach the gospel to every creature." We are to preach. That means we are to convey the good news of Jesus to others. They need to know who Jesus is and what he has done! Most people do not know. They know a little something about Jesus, but they do not understand the truth of who Jesus is!
What is the gospel of Jesus Christ?
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
The good news of Jesus says:
- Jesus is God.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- Jesus was born of a virgin and is fully man and he lived a sinless life.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
1 Peter 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.
- Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice.
- Jesus is raised from the dead and ascended into heaven.
2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel.
- Jesus Christ is coming again to receive his bride, the church and to judge the unbelieving.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Every creature on earth needs to hear this message! Will you take the Great Commission seriously? Don't delay and don't delegate this responsibility. We must all go!
